Coloring Down the Lines - Happy Pistachio Watercolor

WOW, we have a full line up this week.  YEAH!  That's exciting news ... so let's not wait to check out everyone's creation.

This week, the color combinations are:  pistachio pudding, baked brown sugar, and crisp cantaloupe, or pistachio pudding, smoky slate, and strawberry slush.  I wanted to try the first color combination because I had already used the second color combo in a prior post.  So I went to work, trying to figure out what to make because we had to add a button to our card and I usually don't use a lot of buttons.  Humm, guess I'll have to start.

I have to ask ... did you bop over here from Carol's blog?  Now that she's back, we're all jumping for joy. If you haven't, make sure you check her out.

My card is simple, and cute.  The button just adds a little touch, but I think next time, I'll use a button that makes a statement.  Anyway, here it is:

Recipe
Paper:  pistachio pudding, very vanilla, pistachio pudding dsp
Ink:  baked brown sugar, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding
Stamp Sets:  happy watercolor, gorgeous grunge
Accessories:  floral button, linen thread

So that's it ... easy and simple.  Now let's check out what Joni made for us this week.  She always has her cards completed before the weekends ... she's just an over-achiever.  LOL.  That's a good thing.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love your visits!

Happy Birthday Ice Cream Bowl

I found and CASED this cute happy birthday card on Pinterest .. and it is just adorable.  Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of the person who created it, so I'm sorry.  I don't want to take the credit for something I didn't design ... but I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So what do you think?  It's yummy enough to want to just dive in and eat it, isn't it?  Thanks for stopping by!

Peaceful Petals Thank You!

A friend of mine at work wanted me to make her some birthday, thank you, and thinking of you cards so she could make, so I checked out some ideas on Pinterest, and I really loved this one that I CASED from Stampthat.com.  I love the simplicity of the card, and it hit the mark for my friend.  Take a look.

I love the coastal cabana, crushed curry, and smoky slate color combination too.  Too cute!

Happy 80th Birthday, Richey

Our son-in-law's grandfather turned 80 years old this year, and I made him a card for his special day.  Since he loves golf, I thought I would make a card with a golf theme.  Check it out.

This was a fun card to make, and easy.  Happy Birthday, Rich!

Brayer Class: Sunset

Here's another card I made in my brayer class.  I like the sky, sun, and flowers, however, I think there's too much black on the bottom of the card.  I might try this one again with less black, or a different background.  Here's the card I made:

More to come on the brayer scene.  Stay tuned.

Brayer Class - Moon Over the Lake

I'm just getting my feet wet with learning how to brayer.  It takes patience - and I sure do have to practice a lot.  This card turned out ok - but I think the sky is a little too dark, but I'll try it again and see if I can lighten it up a bit.  Here's the card I made in class.

I like the way the light of the moon shines on the horizon, as well as part of the lake.  Now, to work on the sky!  Better luck next time.

Treat Boxes for My Physical Therapists

I couldn't thank my physical therapist enough for all he did for me with my knee replacement recovery.   I had my left knee replaced 5 years ago and it wasn't as smooth and quick as the right one was.  I'm glad I went through the worst one first ... it made this one so much more pleasant - well, as pleasant as can be!

So I made a treat box for Jarod, and I also made a treat box for the other two therapists, as well as the receptionist.  Here they are:

These treat boxes are for the physical therapists.  The one in the center is for Jarod.

This is the treat box I made for Linda, the receptionist.

I just love making things for people.  I'm so glad I have all the tools I need to do so!

Coloring Down the Lines - Crumb Cake

It's that time again ... coloring down the lines!  This week's challenge is crumb cake.  So what colors do we have to work with - so saffron and pumpkin pie, or cajun craze and garden green. One more thing ... add lace!  I chose so saffron and pumpkin pie to work with.  I had an idea in my head, but it didn't work out.  So ... I ended up with something different, and I must say, I was quite pleased with the outcome.

So, before you see my creation, did you get here via Carol's blog?  I sure hope so.  We're so glad Carol is back!!!  YEAH!  She always creates such beautiful cards, doesn't she?  Thanks for coming back, Carol!!!

Now here is what I've created this week.

Recipe
Paper:  crumb cake, very vanilla, so saffron DSP
Ink:  pumpkin pie, so saffron, crumb cake
Stamp Sets:  perfect pennants, petite petals
Accessories:  petite petals punch, square lattice EF, chantilly lace, basic pearls

Now let's check out Ms. Joni's blog and see what she created, and what color combination she used.  I love seeing what everyone created.  What inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by.

Treat Boxes for Co-workers

In addition ,to my colleagues helping me out while I was out with knee surgery,  a few other co-workers helped me out too.  I didn't want to forget them, so I made them each a cute little treat box and filled them with chocolate candy eggs.  Who wouldn't want a little chocolate every now and then?

I'm loving the envelope punch board.  I don't know what I did before I got it!

Mini Coffee Cups For Co-Workers

While I was out of the office recovering from my knee replacement surgery, I had asked some of my co-workers to help me out with my work load.  They were gracious enough to help, and so I wanted to make them something special.  I made these cute mini coffee cups and filled them with candy.  I made matching 3x3 cards with a personal note inside for each.  Here they are ... all cute as ever.

I made the stirrers too - I wish I would have kept one for myself.

Sympathy for Cheryl

A co-worker of mine has been caring for her elderly parents for over the past several years, and this past year proved very challenging for her.  With both parents in their 90's, and a father who's health had been rapidly declining, Cheryl's father passed away quietly, and peacefully, in his favorite chair.  The sadness one feels at the loss of a parent is very hard.  But the sadness for Cheryl will be short lived since she still has her ailing mother to care for who has Alzheimer's.  That can be even more challenging than caring for an ill parent, I can just imagine.  So my heart and prayers go out to Cheryl and her family.  I made this card for her and hope it blesses her, knowing that she is thought of.

I CASED this layout from a card I found on Pinterest a while back.  I changed it up, but thought it was very simple, yet elegant as a sympathy card.

Card Recipe:
Paper:  pistachio pudding, wild wasabi, whisper white, pistachio pudding dsp
Ink:  wild wasabi, pistachio pudding
Stamp Sets:  petite petals, love & sympathy
Accessories:  petite petals punch, bird punch, 3/8" whisper white taffeta ribbon, basic pearls

An Afternoon at the Lake

This is my very first brayer card that I designed by myself.  I'm just learning how to brayer, and I actually liked this when I finished it.   You really have to get the hang of it.  I'm continuing to practice, and stay tuned for more.

I like the peacefulness of this card.  I think I'll save it, or perhaps frame it.

Peachy Keen Hello Friend

This was the first time I used my frame it framelits - and there is a lot you can do with it.  With this card, I was thinking of when I take pictures - and so I decided to make this look like it was a frame of a picture - and tulips was the subject.

I'm also loving the hardwood stamp too.  I wasn't sure I would use it much, but I've made a lot of cards using it.  Here's the one I recently made:

Did you check out the camera?  I used versamark on the camera framelit, and it made that nice impression so you can see the camera better.  Just a little rhinestone for the final touch, and wha-la!

Whole Lot of Wonderful Vivid Vases

I saw this cute card on google images, and I just had to CASE it.  I added a few extra things to my card, particularly the embossing.  I love the vivid vases stamp - you can do so much with it.

I love this card.  I think I might make more of these.

Coloring Down the Lines - Eggstra Special Easter

Well, another week down and another challenge taken.  This week, the color combinations are:  crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding, coastal cabana, or crisp cantaloupe, pink pirouette, soft suede.  I chose the pretty "in color" combination for my card this week.  The twist, make it an Easter card and all vellum.  I love the vellum paper Stampin' Up has, so that was an easy piece for me to add.

Did you hop over her from InkedX2?  I just love Robbie's creations ... they inspire me each and every time.  Well, here's my card that I made:

Recipe
Paper:  pistachio pudding, very vanilla, crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana, gold vellum
Ink:  pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana
Stamp Sets:  eggstra special, teeny tiny wishes
Accessories:  fringe scissors, bakers twine, basic pearls

So, what do you think?  I like it.  And now, I'd like to hop on over to Stampin in the Spotlight with Joni and see what she has for us.  I'm sure it's out of this world.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow!

Retro Fresh Latte

I guess you've noticed that I've been on a roll with the retro fresh dsp!  Well, yes, I made quite a few cards and items for the Great Escape Weekend, so that's why I'm sharing them with you.

I've made quite a few of these sweet little coffee cups, and here's another one.  I used the retro fresh washi tape for the stirrer.  It's so cute!

Sequined Retro Purse

I wanted to make something other than a card using the retro fresh dsp, so I made this cute little designer bag, and of course, I blinged it up using the gold sequin ribbon.  Look how cute this one turned out.

I made the base of the purse using baked brown sugar card stock, then cut out the retro fresh dsp slightly shorter to make stand out.  I love this little bag!

Rosette Treat Boxes

I like making treat boxes, and they're a nice way to say "thank you" or just brighten up someone's day.  These were fun and easy to make .... they each hold a lindor truffle inside.  Oh yum.  They just melt in your mouth.

They're just too pretty to open.

Sending Good Thoughts Water Bottle Tags

I had fun making these water bottle tags.  A few weeks back, I made one for our blog hop - remember?  Well, I made these first and then CASED it for my blog using that week's color challenge.  I love these ...

What a nice way to dress up a water bottle!

You Make The World a Better Place

Isn't it nice when you receive a card that says "you make the world  better place"?  I know I would be honored to receive one.  So I'll just have to give this one away to a very deserving soul.

It's a bit hard to see, but the background of the card is embossed with stripes.  Look close, and you can see it.  I love this card!

Retro Rose Thank You

I started using  the spiral flower die that makes these beautiful rosettes ... and I was on a roll.  I decided to use one on this card I made using the retro fresh designer series paper.

I added the piece of burlap to the card ... I thought it gave it a nice touch.  Hope you like it!

Coloring Down the Lines - Basic Gray Envelope Punch

Welcome back to our blog hop this week.  Our challenge is the color combinations:  basic gray, melon mambo, old olive or basic gray, real red, pumpkin pie.  I didn't like the second color combination too much, so I chose the first one.

Did you arrive here from Amanda's blog?  She always amazes me how beautiful her cards are.

So here is that I created this week.  I used the envelope punch board for the edge of the card, and it looks a little like a file folder.  Hope you like it.

Recipe
Paper:  whisper white, basic gray
Ink:  basic gray, melon mambo, old olive
Stamp Sets:  springtime hello, wetlands
Accessories:  basic gray stitched ribbon, basic rhinestones, chalk talk framelits, decorative dots EF, envelope punch board

Now let's hop on over and see what Laura created for us.  You know it's going to be a winner!

Hope you enjoyed the hop this week.  It's always fun!

You & Me, Retro Fresh

I wasn't a real fan of the retro fresh dsp, but now, I am.  I made quite a few items using the designer series paper from Stampin' Up, and thought I would share them with you.

This first one is You and Me.  I like the "you and me" stamp ... it's so cute.

I hope you like it.  Let me know what you think.

Petal Parade

Petal Parade is a stamp set that was featured in Stampin' Up's sale-a-bration, which ended last month.  This stamp set was one of the "free" ones you could have received if you purchased $50 in product.  WOW, Stampin' Up sure knows how to make the most of their promotions.  I hope you had the opportunity to get this stamp set ... it sure is cute.

We made this card at our team meeting in March.  I've also seen it on Pinterest too.  Check it out!

Oh Snap! Camera Card

How fun is the Oh Snap Camera Card?  This was made using the envelope punch board too, and this came out so cute.  We made this at our March team meeting - and it was quick and easy.  I love this card:

Isn't it the cutest?

Red, Black and Vanilla Birthday

This is one of the cards we made at our March team meeting.  It's really nice, and I love the colors:  black, red, and vanilla.  I can see making this card using a bunch of cool colors.  That way, I'll have quite a few on hand when I need them.

Simple, and oh so sweet.

This is the last of the team swap cards for the Spring / Easter theme.  This one is from Pam, and it's simple and sweet.  Very cute!

Enough said, don't you think?

Coloring Down the Lines - Scoring with Coastal Cabana

We have a light crew this week for our Coloring Down the Lines blog - just the four of us.  But don't worry, the others will be back soon.

This week's challenge is the beautiful "Coastal Cabana".  We are to pair it up with calypso coral and smoky slate, or pumpkin pie and crushed curry.  I chose the first color combination - just because I like the colors.  The added twist is to add scoring to our card.  Sometimes it's a bit hard to see, but I tried to angle the photo so you can see it.

Robbie kicked us off this week and she's a tough act to follow.  Laura follows me, and I can never keep up with her.  And then there's Liz, picking up the rear.  Last, but not least, Liz!  Whoo hoo.

I chose to make a simple card this week - simple, clean and scored.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Recipe
Paper:  coastal cabana, calypso coral, whisper white
Ink:  coastal cabana, calypso coral, smoky slate
Stamp Sets:  banner blast, teeny tiny wishes
Accessories:  banner punch, calpyso coral bakers twine, basic rhinestones

Well thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see you back soon.

Dad's Birthday Tool Box

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!  It's my father's birthday today.  He's 87 years old today!  He is still driving, lives by himself, and he's doing well, except for his knees.  I'm so happy to have him, and it's so nice to celebrate every birthday with him.

He loves making things, but since his knees aren't in the greatest shape, he hasn't been able to do much.  So I wanted to make him a tool box card that I knew he would enjoy.  I found this card and CASED it from Linda Cullen.  It's so cute.  All I did was change it slightly, but it turned out so cute.

Check it out ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dad.  I love you!
