Hello! Happy Wednesday. It's Coloring Down the Lines blog hop day and are you anxious to see what's in store for you this week? I know I am ...
Let's start with the photograph and color pallet we used for this week's card. Fall colors, at best, so it wasn't hard to come up with something.
Doesn't the picture look like a misty, possible blustery day? That's what I thought about when I created my card. Here's my version of the challenge:
You can't see it because of the table my card is on, but the card stock background is soft suede. I guess I should have placed the card on a lighter background. O well ... you get the idea.
If you've arrived here from Robbie's blog, and I'm sure you enjoyed her card, don't forget to hop on over to Joni's blog to see what she's done with the challenge.
I hope you will come back again ... I'll be posting some of my library cards for you to see.
Happy Hump Day, and have a better tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by.

Dashing Through the Snow
I had to make a Christmas card, and especially this one. I CASED it from Melinescrap, and her's is much nicer than mine. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the glitter on the snow to show in the photograph, but it's there. Maybe if you look close, you'll see it.
I used night of navy for the sky in the background, and daubed over the trees with smoky slate. The snowflakes are stamped with silver metallic ink, and the sleigh and horse are basic gray. The SNOW sentiment is done is silver glimmer paper, although it looks gold in the photograph. I must do something with the lighting in my house. It always appears softer and yellow than bright and white.
Hope you like it....it really does look better in person.
Ciao for now.

Coloring Down the Lines - Colorful, Fanciful Leaves
The leaves are just starting to turn here in Pennsylvania, but there's a lot more to go. As the sun shines and the leaves blow in the wind, the beautiful blue sky places a pretty backdrop for the colorful leaves that are yet to show their vibrant beauty. I realize Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner, but I'm just not ready to give up on Fall and get into the frenzy of the holidays.
In keeping with that thought, my entry today focuses on Fall. The color pallet and photograph were a bit challenging for me this week, since I'm in Fall mode, but I managed to make it work.
Let's take a look at the photograph we used for inspiration, and the colors we had to work with. What would you create using these colors?
It's a little bit hard to see that the card base is rich razzleberry, and the leaf is embossed in silver and colored in with stampin' up markers. I topped it off with some thick silver baker's twine. The background is embossed using the Boho Chic embossing folder, for an added touch.
Have you checked out Amanda's card this week? If not, hop on back over to OurCraftyPlaydate to see what she did with the color challenge. Then, hop forward to Joniinthespotlightstamping, as she always comes up with interesting creations for the color combinations.
Hope you like the card. I just want to hang on to Fall just a bit longer before the winds of change take us into Winter.
Thanks for stopping by.

The picture above reminds me of snow, ice crystals, and winter, with a touch of color. I certainly don't winter to come upon us just yet, so here's what I came up with as a celebration of Fall, that is waiting to come right through the door.

If the Broom Fits ....
I thought this stamp set was so cute when I first saw it. I wondered what I might do with it, but for starters, I decided just to create a card with it and see what happens. From there, I figured a lot of inspiration would pop up, and I do have some ideas, so we'll have to wait and see.
Here's what I created over the weekend ..
The card is simple, but it was fun making. I played around with the colors on the broom to make them look more realistic. I stamped them in tip top taupe, then added delightful dijon and tip top taupe over top. The card base is smoky slate, but it appears more like wisteria wonder in the photograph. LOL.
Hope you like it. Stay tuned for tomorrow's entry. I think I'm on a roll.
Happy Stamping!

FaBOOlous Fur Babies!
I diverted a bit from my use of Stampin' Up stamps and created this cute Halloween card using another stamp set. The paper, inks, and other supplies are all Stampin' Up, but I couldn't resist this stamp set because it reminds me of my dogs and cat. It came together quickly and I was pleased with it.
I used the black glitter paper for the hats, and the stamp set also came with dies to match, so I made the little fur creatures pop from the card. The stars were stamped with metallic gold, and I also used the star embossing folder on the white background, and daubed the gold metalllic ink over the stars to make them a bit visible. The decorative labels were from the Witch's Hat project kit, which was left over after I finished that awesome hat.
Hope you like my little fur babies. They're too cute to resist.
Happy Haunting!

Coloring Down the Lines - Fall Has Arrived!
This week's color challenge falls in line with "Fall". So I thought I would make a Fall card using the colors selected for the week. If you arrived here from Amanda's blog, don't forget to fall right on over to Joni's blog to see what she's created as well.
Let's start with the photograph and color pallet. The colors go together and blend nicely.
Here is the card I made using all the colors in the pallet above:
The background is stamped directly on to the embossing folder using smoky slate, and the trees are slightly sponged using crumb cake. I used "Vintage Leaves" stamp set, along with Acorny Thank You for the leaf and and acorn. I also used "Lots of Labels" framelits for the sentiment for a little added touch to the card.
Enjoy!

A Touch of Gold For Some Lighthearted Leaves
I just love Fall, and the colors of the season are just gorgeous. So naturally, I love using Stampin' Up's Fall stamps, especially leaves. You can do a lot with them and make them so life-like.
For this card, I decided to gold emboss the leaves for a touch of elegance. Gold embossing on Fall colored paper just adds that extra beauty to whatever you choose to make.
Here's the card I made over the weekend, just playing around with colors and embossing.
For the background, I used "gorgeous grunge" for some added interest. I topped the bunch of leaves off with some linen thread and gold cord, and that's it.
Sure hope you enjoy it, and would love to hear your comments.
