As promised, this is the second brayer card I made over the past weekend. I enjoyed learning the technique, and now I'm on the hunt for a design to make on my own and see what I can do with it. I'm not sure what theme I'll use, but I'm going to try. At our next class, if we bring a card we made on our own, we'll receive a prize. Well, who doesn't want to get a prize? I have to take the challenge.
Anyway, here's the card. Hope you like this one too.
And there you have it. Thanks for stopping by!

Coloring Down the Lines - Scoring with Primrose Petals
Hi! I'm glad you stopped by to check out our blog hop this week. Our challenge was to come up with a card using the color combinations: Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Basic Gray, or Primrose Petals, So Saffron, and Marina Mist. I chose the first color combination, however, the twist we were to add was scoring on the card. Now ... scoring isn't hard, however, having it show up in your photograph is somewhat of a challenge. You have to get the angle and lighting just right .. so I did my best. Check out the scorelines on the top left of the card. If you look, you can see them.
Did you hop over from Our Crafty Play Date's blog? It's always interesting to see what everyone comes up with, particularly when you add a twist.
Well, here's mine ... the card is simple, but says something, don't you think?

Serene Silhouettes - My First Brayer Class
I made this card using the brayer technique that I learned this past weekend. I love the technique, and I think the card turned out so cute. I'm getting the hang of it, and I made another one too, which I will post for you tomorrow.
Check it out ...
I can't wait to make more cards ... but not bad for my first try. Hope you like it.

February Paper Pumpkin Bag - Oh la la
Do you subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin? If not, you should. Feel free to check it out, and you can sign up right here on my blog if you like.
This month, the surprise was making bags! Oh how I love bags. I decorated mine a little different, but check it out. You get 5 in your box, so you can have all sorts of fun.
When I took the picture, the e-l-e slipped a little, but you get the drift. Isn't it cute? And the bags are a nice weight ... it can hold something substantial in weight.
I can't wait to make more ... stay tuned.

Connie's Birthday Card
My friend, Connie, shares the same birthday as my pop pop. So of course, I would never forget her birthday, especially since I was very close to my pop pop and miss him very much.
So I went to work looking for ideas and found another card I CASEd from Jo Hooper at Stampin' Up entitled Viva L a Verve. I changed it up a bit, and here's my version:

My Brother, John's Birthday Card
This year I was a bit late with February birthday cards. My brother was born on Ground Hog's Day - February 2, and I'm finally getting around to making him a birthday card. I just didn't have it in me to sit for any length of time since my knee surgery, so I finally found the time and stamina to make all the cards I needed.
My brother loves to fish, and of course, he's an avid sports fan too. So I went with the "fishing" theme since we're all looking forward to Spring's arrival and put this Winter behind us.
Here's the card I made for him:

A Million & One Thanks
During the horrible ice storm we had on February 5, I managed to create a card for our team swap on the 16th of February. I had to stop a few times and continue on at intervals because sitting hurts my knee. I was happy - I managed to make 12 of them, and yes, I still have it. I can't wait until I can get back into the swing of things on a steady basis.
Recipe
Paper: basic black, sweet sorbet dsp(sale-a-bration), crisp cantaloupe
Ink: black stazon
Stamp Set: million & one
Accessories: banners framelits, 7/8" scallop circle punch, vintage faceted designer button, sweet sorbet accessory pack (sale-a-bration)
Just love the dsp from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. Soooo cute!

Coloring Down the Lines - Midnight Muse with a Sketch
I'm so glad to be back, blogging away. I'm making progress with my knee surgery, although it still is challenging, and yes, it hurts! This is week 3 for me, and I'm way ahead of the game, so I'm blessed to healing and I'm happy to be back creating!
This week's challenge is Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, or Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party. I chose the first option ... and the twist was to find a sketch from another blog or so and use that.
Well, I hope you followed the lineup this week! Did you arrive here after visiting Our Crafty Playdate? Isn't Amanda's creation one of a kind? I love her work.
So now, here's submission for the week, along with the sketch I chose to pattern my card after. Hope you like it.

Tj's birthday box
Today is my son's 28th birthday. I can't believe he's 28 years old. I can remember when he was a small, young boy with blonde hair and a zest for life. He is a happy person, and even when he was little, he used to sing, which warmed my heart. So today, it's his birthday and we wish him the very best of birthdays and many more to come.
I made him an exploding box card - it was the 2nd one I've ever made and I think it came out nice. I sure hope he likes it. Here's a couple views of it.

My Get Well Cards
Hi Everyone! I'm back - not in full swing, but I thought I would start posting again since my surgery. My knee replacement surgery went well, and I'm progressing nicely. Of course, with it comes all the aches and pains, and the rehab! Oh, the rehab. It's so tough and I have to keep myself from spilling the tears when pushed to the brink. But I know it's necessary, and I'm counting the days / months until this is all behind me.
I received some really nice get well cards from my team mates. I thought I would share them with you.
